Natural Product Extraction

In collaboration with Bio-Food-Tech, the current project consists of extracting natural products using supercritical CO2 and subcritical water. The fluid phases are achieved by selecting pressures and temperatures above the critical conditions in the fluid-phase diagrams. The fluid will have the penetration characteristics as in the gas phase, and the high density of its liquid phase. Therefore, extracting natural products such as oils from solid materials is achievable.
