Revolve Microscope
The Revolve (Echo) is a unique microscope that is able to switch between an inverted and upright microscope. It is ideal for viewing both glass slides and petri dishes. The revolve can be used for capturing fluorescent, phase contrast, and brightfield images. As opposed to traditional microscope eyepieces, the Revolve features an iPad Pro for the ultimate user experience.

BioX
Using the BioX printer from CellLink, we are able to 3D print biological materials in a sterile environment. The BioX offers a range of print settings such as heated/cooled printheads or print beds.

Inkredible+
The Inkredible+ (CellLink) is a pneumatic-based extrusion bioprinter with a UV LED curing system. This printer allows us to do on the bench printing of biological materials while maintaining sterility.

Form 3
The form 3 is a Low Force Sterolithography 3D printer from FormLabs. The high resolution print ensures consistent quality prints for lab-on-a-chip applications, and many others. Along with the Form 3, we have a variety of resins ranging from flexible to durable properties.

Drop Shape Analyzer
The Drop Shape Analyzer (KRUSS, DSA30S) is a unique tool that allows us to view a magnified singular droplet. It measure the surface tension, and the wetting angle of a liquid.

Rheometer
Using the rheometer, Malvern Panalytical Kinexus Ultra+, we are able to measure the viscosities and other properties of suspensions or slurries. This is useful for having an profound understanding of the novel bioprinting materials being used in the lab.

3D Printing and Bioprinting (Modified K8200)
Custom 3D bioprinter and heating system.
Capable of 3D bioprinting structures composed of living cells and printing scaffold designs using biological and bioabsorbable materials such as PLGA.
Capable of 3D printing thermoplastics using standard hot ends for fused deposition modeling, or heated syringe-based deposition.

Filament Extrusion and Spooling
Using a Filastruder filament extruder and Filawinder we are capable of recycling filament such as ABS, PLA, Nylon, Polycarbonate, PET, Acrylic, and Polypropylene in a sustainable fashion. Development of novel filaments using bioplastics and biological materials is an ongoing area of research and service.

High Speed Imaging
The Photron FASTCAM SA-X2 is one of the fastest high speed cameras in Atlantic Canada with capabilities of up to 1,000,000 frames per second. This camera is used in conjunction with a custom mounting frame and microscope unit in microfluidic and lab-on-a-chip applications.

Microfluidic Setup
Our Chemyx Fusion 100 high precision syringe pumps allow for control of reproducible flow rates for microfluidic applications. These systems are capable of holding syringes from 0.5µl to 60 mL and can produce flow rates from 0.001 µl/min to 102 ml/min.

Other Equipment
Our lab is outfitted with various microscopes and hot plates to meet your needs.
